Ann STOBBS in 1624, Stanhope, DUR. Their son John b 1625 married Ann ENGLEBYE in
1656 at Dalton le Dale, DUR. Their son Cuthbert b 1669 married Ann LOANSDALE of
Escomb, DUR, in 1689. Their son Lancelot 1697-1766 married Elizabeth HARRISON
1695-1766 on 16th May 1721 at Stanhope, DUR. In 1754 their son
Cuthbert, born 1727, at Chestergarth House, Rookhope, DUR, married Elizabeth
HARRISON bapt 1732 of Smailesburn, Rookhope, DUR. Their son Cuthbert born 1764
married Elizabeth WEARS in Jun 1790 at Hexham, NBL. Elizabeth WEARS was bapt Jan
1768 at Hexham, NBL. The above were my ancestors and there were WESTGARTHS in
CUL, before these times. William WESTGARTH was a mining engineer in the
Allendale area of NBL. The family then moved to Tyneside circa 1798 to become
watermen. Later marriages were to Jane BAINBRIDGE, Hannah BAINBRIDGE & Alice
BINNEY etc. Some of the WESTGARTHs, not necessarily mine, were given as Quakers,
especially to do with the London Lead Mining Co. Any information welcome. (Updated

John was the second child of eleven born to William WAUGH and Ann RICHARDSON.
William was born in Knarsdale, NBL 21st February, 1816 and John was born in
Kirkhaugh, NBL on 21st August 1844. William and Ann and children emigrated to
Australia in 1855. I have no other information regarding William and Ann's
families and anything be it ever so small, would be much appreciated. (Updated

30 Dec 1775 at St. Augustine's, Alston, CUL. Known children were John, Stephen,
Joseph (d. 1782), Mary (d.?), Mary, Edward (bap. 27 Jun 1791), Edward's son,
William, (bap. 29 Oct 1828 at Nenthead, CUL) moved to St. Helen, Auckland, DUR,
where he married. There are other groups of LATHERON's in the Alston, CUL and
Hexham, NBL, areas in the 18th century whom I have not yet linked with Richard

Road, Witton le wear, DUR. Looking for birth/marr/death of Robert BLACKLOCK
married to Mary NICHOLSON) Tynemouth/North Shields, NBL. Robert and Mary were
the parents of William born 1859 at Blackburns Quay, North Shields, NBL. Looking
for Thomas WATSON (a Blacksmith) born approx 1815 Newcastle upon Tyne, NBL or
London, LND. His son Thomas William WATSON lived at Ouseburn, Byker, Newcastle,
NBL in 1856 when he was 21 years old. Thomas William married Mary ALLAN. They
lived at various addresses in Gateshead, DUR & Newcastle, NBL (Updated

BATY, who emigrated to New Zealand in 1879. His name was Joseph BATY or BATEY,
born about 1820, married about 1843, and was a lead miner at Killhope in
Weardale. All I know about his wife was that she was Mary (nee PEART) and would
have been born about 1821. They had four other children that we know of, Mary
Ann, Sarah, Joseph and John, Jacob being the youngest. We suspect that he might
have been a Primitive Methodist, as Jacob was also a very strong Methodist. Also
looking for families of Jacob's brothers, Joseph and John, we know they were
married and had children but that is all. (Updated
